Men Marz menhir (this name mean the miracle's stone in Breton) is a splendid megalith and easy to locate. With his height (9,50 m), it constitutes really a majestic monument situated at 1 km distance from the coast. This menhir is simply put on the ground, really not deep in the grond. People suppose that it has been put up about 10 000 years ago. Very rare are christianised menhirs, as this one, in Britanny. In fact, a cross has been graved on a side and one another is fixed on the top of the stone. This christianisation is dated coming from middle-age. This menhir is classed historic monument since 1889. |
