Tradition say that, when a sailor die in the sea, people find back his body 3 days after that a mass is said for him in the chapel. This chapel is situated in the rocks , near the Pontusval's lighthouse.

Near this chapel can you look at a sentry box. It dates from XVIIIe century and was built to control the coast. It is placed on the top of granitic rocks.

This lighthouse is a jonction between the lighthouses of Île Vierge (the hightest in Europa) and Île de Batz.

This lighthouse is private : it is not possible to visit it.

  Men Marz menhir

Men Marz menhir (this name mean the miracle's stone in Breton) is a splendid megalith and easy to locate. With his height (9,50 m), it constitutes really a majestic monument situated at 1 km distance from the coast.

This menhir is simply put on the ground, really not deep in the grond. People suppose that it has been put up about 10 000 years ago.

Very rare are christianised menhirs, as this one, in Britanny. In fact, a cross has been graved on a side and one another is fixed on the top of the stone. This christianisation is dated coming from middle-age.

This menhir is classed historic monument since 1889.

Surrounded by the attractive houses of the village and lined by the campsite, it offers multiple possibilities to the vacationers, the fishing or the offshore ballad, the decouverte of the water sports, discovered by the marine environment with its flora and its fauna. The security is more insured by the quite close SNSM and by the semaphore.

In summer, the bay is also the theater of fireworks, multiple demonstrations and festivities.

  Mysterious rocks
Often by following the coast, we are struck by the mysterious forms which Mother Nature deigned to sculpture in the granite of rocks. Who is allowed go has some imagination, will see monstrous beings come from another world there. The reality is very simple: years, with the effective help of the wind, the rain and the frost, allowed these results.
